UNIT ONE: COMPUTER LAB-MEANING AND TYPES

2.1. COMPUTER LAB-MEANING

Computer laboratory is a room where computers are placed and used for training purposes. Generally, these are special rooms designed with specific specifications. The size of the room, number, types of computers or how the computers are arranged depends on the type of the practical’s to be conducted, the furniture, space available, the nature of the students, and the financial position of the school.

2.2. COMPUTER ROOM MANAGEMENT ETHICS

Computers are very delicate and fragile equipments. Because of that they must be handled with care at all times. Computer ethics deals with appropriate measures that will be employed by all users of the computer laboratory in other to ensure safety of the computers and the users. Some of the measures to be employed are as follows:

2.2.3. Appropriate lightening
2.2.4. Setting computer
2.2.5. Worktops
2.2.6. Power supply
2.2.7. Fire protection
2.2.8. Protection from power problem
