2.5.2. Computer virus Some computers and individuals manufacture viruses and distribute them via the internet. Such viruses can destroy computers of innocent persons. 2.5.3. Fraud/Stealing Fraud and stealing involves retrieval of information of people form their email and using the information to steal or commit. For instance, people access the emails of people, retrieve their bank documents, containing information such as ATM card, signature etc. the people can now use such information to withdraw money from the account of the owner of the email. 2.5.4. Pornography Pornography is the display of sexually offensive materials such as nude girls/women, sex videos, sex pictures. There are web sites on the internet which host pornographic materials. Such materials divert the attention of the people from browsing. It also increases the rate of moral decadence among the youths 2.5.5. Cyber war Cyber war is the use of electronic gadgets such as the internet to access information and data of a country, established and destroyed it. Cyber war is current embarked upon in countries like China, United States, and Russia etc 2.5.6. Piracy of softwares Most softwares placed on the internet are for sale. You must pay before acquiring them. There group of cyber thieves called hackers, who can access commercial softwares and download them without paying. Such acts have caused companies to loss billion of dollars. 2.5.7. Plagiarism Most people download books, journals etc from the internet and use them without the knowledge or consent of the authors. Such act is called plagiarism and is serious crime. |
