BASIC COMPUTER OPERATIONS AND CONCEPTS  COMPUTER HARDWARE: PEOPLES WARE, PROCESSES AND PROCEDURES,  COMPUTER DATA AND INFORMATION

Performance Objectives.

By the end of this unit the students should be able to:

a. Lists peoples ware

b. Lists computer processes and procedures

c. Lists computer data and information

UNIT ONE: PEOPLE WARE

8.1. DEFINITION OF PEOPLES WARE

Peopleware are the people that use or operate the computer. Examples of the peoples ware are:
  1. computer engineers
  2. Programmers
  3. Computer educations
  4. Computer analysts

UNIT TWO: PROCESSES AND PROCEDURE

8.2. DEFINITION OF PROCESSES AND PROCEDURES

Processes and procedure are the steps, strategies employ the person using the computer before he/she starts using the computer. Examples of processes and procedure are:

1. Writing down the activities you intend to perform on the computer on a piece of paper
2. Logging onto the computer
3. Loading an application software e.g Microsoft words or excel
4. Typing in the application software
5. Saving what you typed
6. Printing what you typed
7. Logging off the computer

UNIT THREE: DATA AND INFORMATION

8.3. DATA AND INFORMATION

Data and information are the files, documents, pictures, videos etc stored on the computer. Some of the data and information in the computer are:
1. Operating system instructions pre-installed on the computer
2. Files folders saved on the computer
3. Audio music files stored on the computer4. Video music files stored on the computer

1. What do you understand by people and processes?

2. Describe how people, processes and hardware interact.

3. Write short notes on:
