Good computer professionals should obey the ethics of computer professional bodies. That means their conducts should be guided by the rules and regulations of their professionals bodies.

Computer professional bodies are groups, associations or unions of computer specialists who coordinate and regulate the activities of computer organization. Some of the organizations in Nigeria are:-

The Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) is the umbrella organization of all Information Technology Professionals, Interest Groups and Stakeholders in Nigeria.
Established in 1978 as the Computer Association of Nigeria, NCS is the national platform for the advancement of Computer Science and Information Technology and has as members the following Registered Interest Groups (RIG):

The Institute for the Management of Information Systems (IMIS) is an international association devoted to supporting and promoting information and data management in Nigeria and beyond.
The institute's activities involve education and training of its members in computing and information management.
16.3.3. Computer Professional Registration Council Of Nigeria
The Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN) was established in 1993. The Council (CPN) is responsible for controlling and coordinating the activities of all computer Associations and computer professionals in Nigeria. Web address- http://www.cpnportal.org/.

Nigeria Internet Group (NIG) is a non profit, non-governmental organization established in 1995. The main objective of the group is to promote Internet services in Nigeria through capacity building and regulating the activities of computer professionals.
