Automated Payments- Use of ATM card
ATM means Automated Teller Machines. These are machines that use special cards called ATM cards. You can use ATM card to withdraw money from the bank. Below is a woman using ATM machine
COMPUTERS IN THE ENVIRONMENT
Environment scientists, geographers use computers for:
- Forecasting weather, flood, hurricane, earthquake
- Pollution monitoring and control etc.
Below is a picture of satellite stationed in the orbit. It is used for assessing the various parts of the world- water, soil, cities etc and then sends the report to a station on the earth (any country)
COMPUTERS IN MANUFACTURING
Computers are also used in the industries for:
- Computer Aided Design (CAD)- designing of new materials, goods- cars, planes, clothes etc
- Computer aided Manufacturing(CAM)- production of goods E.g. designing of cars, aero planes, textiles etc
- The Automated Factory. In an automated factory, robots (artificial human beings) are used for painting, welding, and other repetitive assembly-line jobs
- Computers also help track inventory, time the delivery of parts or products
- Control the quality of the production, monitor wear and tear on machines, and schedule maintenance.
