The modern methods of information transmission have the following advantages:
- Large of data/information can be processed
- Large of data/information can be stored for long period
- Large of data/information can be transferred over long distance- from country to another country.
12.3. CLASSIFICATION OF MEANS OF TRANSMITTING INFORMATION
Means of transmitting information varied with communities and time. Basically, there are two types, namely:

Electronic method of transmitting information or data is the use electronic gadgets or equipments to transfer data or information from one place to another. The electronic gadgets used are gsm handsets, television, radio, telephone, computer etc.
12.3.2. Non-Electronic
Non-Electronic method of transmitting information or data is the use non-electronic gadgets or equipments to transfer data or information from one place to another. The non-electronic gadgets use are books, newsprints etc.
12.4. MODES OF RECEIVING INFORMATION
Information can be received by man in various formats. The most relevant formats are:

12.4.3. Audio-visual

Audio-Visual method of receiving information involves using both the senses of hearing and sight (ear and eyes) to receive data or information. The simplest example is watching Videos films, drama on the television, reading and listening to audio books etc
