TRACHEA/BRANCHIAL TREE

1. Trachea

The trachea extends from the larynx and is situated behind the oesophagus. Structurally, the trachea comprised of about 16-20 hyaline cartilages. It also comprised of muscles and internally lined with mucus membrane.
\the main functions of the trachea are:

  1. Support
  2. Moistening of the respiratory system
  3. Air filter

2. Bronchial tree( Bronchus)

The trachea divides into two trunks, called brachial tree. Each of the branchial tree terminates into the left and right lungs.
