1. The Kidneys
The kidneys are pear shaped organs situated in the pelvic cavity of man. They are two in number, on the left and right sides of the body.
Functions of the kidneys

Excretion - to remove waste products i.e. urea which results from deamination of excess amino acids in the liver and excess water and salts.

Osmoregulation - the kidneys balance the water and salts composition of blood.
