Internal Structure of the kidneys

Cortex

Cortex is the outer part of the kidney. It is the site where blood is filteed.

Medulla

The medulla is the middle part of the kidney. It is made up of tubes called collecting ducts that carry filtrate to pelvis

Pelvis

The pelvis is the inner region of the kidney after the medulla. it is connected to ureter

Renal artery

The renal artery is the bood vessel that enters the kidney.It transports oxygenated blood containing saits, nutrients. urea, water etc

Renal vein

The renal vein is the bood vessel that leaves the kidney. It transports deoxygenated blood filterate- urea and water etc

Ureter

Ureter is a muscular, tubular structure that tramsports urine frpm yhe kidneys to the bladder.
