Business Tycoons can conduct business meetings on the internet or over telephone or fax machines. This reduces cost of travelling and other logistics etc. For instance, business people in Lagos, Nigeria can stay in Lagos and discuss business with their counterparts in England or United States of America.
7.1.2.5.Innovative ways of doing things
ICT has brought new ways of doing things in all aspects of human life. For instance, in teaching and learning, teaching has been moved beyond the four walled classroom. You can stay in house in Jalingo, Nigeria and attend lectures with your colleagues in China, at the same time using the internet.
7.1.3. DISADVANTAGES OF ICT
One of the disadvantages of using ICT is:-

In spite of the fact that ICT has brought wealth, beauty and comfort to man, it has its disadvantages. For instance, it has led to lost of jobs in many developed countries. This is because jobs performed by man are taken over by computers, robots (artificial human beings). For instance in the health sector, there are computers that can diagnose illnesses or disease, prescribe drugs; in engineering there are computer aided design software that can produce different engineering drawings; in the manufacturing industries robots controlled by computers supervises and manage manufacturing processes with minimal instructions from man. Such situations led to the layoff of people from work in the developed countries.

7.2. APPLICATION OF ICT IN EVERYDAY LIFE- THE GSM, FAX MACHINE AND TELEPHONE
Some of the common gadgets used for the application of ICT in our society are:

7.3.4. Computer7.2.1. The GSM
GSM stands for Global System for Mobile Communications. GSM handsets are handheld telephone device that you use for communicating without any cable to connect to the service provider.. It also has SMS- Short message Service used for sending and receiving text messages (data and information- text, audio, video clips etc). GSM handsets are used in schools in the developed world to deliver instructions as well as collaborate with colleagues.
7.2.2. FAX Machine
Fax machine is a machine that uses the telephone to send text and graphic materials from one place to another. The receiver of the message can use the printer to print the message
7.2.3. Telephone
Telephone is use in the society to disseminate data and information. There are several distance learning courses that are undertaken via the telephone.
