6.1. 4. DOWNLOADING DOCUMENTS AND SOFT WARES
Downloading documents and soft wares
Downloading refers to the strategies used to get data, information, products such as books, journals, videos, softwares etc from the internet.
6.1.5. SAVING INTERNET DOCUMENTS
You can use different methods to save documents that have been retrieved from the internet. Some of the common methods are:
a. Bookmarking
b. Saving on my document folder
c. Sending to e-mail
d. Saving on external storage device such CD/DVD Rom, Flash drive, Memory card, external hard disca. Bookmarking
Bookmarking means saving a web page, books, softwares etc in a special folder called bookmark. Web pages saved as bookmarks cannot be read offline. That means you cannot read them when you are not on the internet.
b. Saving on my document folder
You can save web pages, books, softwares etc in any part of your computer such as my documents folder, my picture, my music folder etc. such saved web pages can be read offline. Similarly you can save you documents, books, softwares downloaded from the web in external storage devices such as the CD- Rom, Flash drive, zip drive, memory card, external hard disc etc
6.2. ELECTRONIC MAILS (E-MAIL)
Electronic mail is similar to the post office box, where you use to send letters to friends and relatives. It has a key just like the post office box, called user name and Password. However, electronic mail can be considered as the electronic form of the convention past office box on the internet through which information is send to individuals, organizations etc. the sender of the e-mail most have a user name and password. Similarly, the receiver of the e-mail most has an e-mail address, with a user name and password. He can use the user name and password to access his/her box and retrieve, print the message send to him.
6.2.1. HOW CREATE AN E-MAIL ADDRESS?
You can create Gmail in Google or yahoo mail in yahoo. However, in this book I used Google mail-Gmail.
You can us the following strategies to create Gmail in Googles.
