Example of the uses of information in business

Business people need information on the sales of their products- whether their products are acceptable to their customers or not.

Example of the uses of the information in governance

Government used information to assess performance and status of their ministries, departments, boards etc. Are they doing good or bad? For example, how many schools have science laboratories? How many teachers have professional qualification? And how do these factors affect the teaching and learning in schools.

2.3. QUALITIES OF GOOD INFORMATION

The basic features of good information are as follow:
2.3.1. Relevant
2.3.2. Accurate
2.3.3. Available

2.3.4. Reliable

2.3.1. Relevant

Relevant means that the information collected must be important to the person using it or to the situation to which it is been applied or used.

2.3.2. Accurate

Information is only accurate if it’s correct, containing valid data, without error or mistakes and cannot be manipulated.

2.3.3. Available

For information to be important, it must be available to the person using it at the time it is needed.

2.3.4. Reliable

For information to be acceptable and usable, it must be reliable. That is, it should be able to withstand any manipulation at all times.
