  9. State the features of a computer that make it an excellent tool for data processing

UNIT ONE: DATA

2.1. WHAT IS DATA?

Data can be considered as the characteristics of persons, places, events etc, which have no meaning or does not tell the person having it anything new.  These characteristics can be in the form of numbers, characters, symbols, pictures or even videos.  For data to be meaningful, sensible and useful, it has to be processed/transformed into something meaningful using either the computer or the brain.
