Computers are used storing data and information. For instance:
- Schools store information such as student records- names, sex, age, performances in computers
- Police store information on security matters on computers, hospitals can store information pertaining to patient records, diseases; staff lists etc. on computers etc. Families store information on household budgets, schedules etc. on computers.
- You can use the computer at home to store information of your house.
15.1.2. COMPUTERS IN HEALTH
Computers are used in all sectors of health for:
- Scanning- scanning the developing baby of a pregnant mother
- Microscopy- scan the presences of parasites in stool, urine or blood
- Disease surveillance
- Diagnosis of illnesses

- Management and treatment of diseases- computers can be attached to body of a patient to monitor and manage progression of a disease. Below picture shows a patient suffering from Diabetes having a computer attached to his body. The computer monitors the secretion of insulin in the body.
- Information management- Patient records systems-Computerized record keeping systems allow details of medical treatment to be stored.
