UNIT ONE: BASIC COMPUTER CONCEPTS

DEFINITION OF THE COMPUTER?

Computers are electronic devices used for collecting, processing, analyzing, storing, presenting data and disseminating/displaying information. This means that you can put data in form of words, letters, pictures or sound called inputs into computers. Such data can be processed by the computer and gives out words, letters, text, pictures, videos, movies, or sound.

Computer As- Input-Process-Output (IPO) System

 Computers are considered as input, processing and display device, because they can receive data (Input), process data and send out data (Output). These processes are illustrated in the picture below
